The Carrera Classic NASCARS could virtually never end!

FORD SERIES

The combination of master car builder Smokey Yunick along with driver Bobby Unser made this team a very popular one to watch. It was not long after this that Smokey left NASCAR, but his legacy lives on to this day.

Below is the model that Carrera based the latest release on. They did well as even the small amount of contingency decals are about as accurate as you could ask for.

No longer the little brother....

Donnie Allison, driving the '69 Ford #27 owned and operated by Banjo Matthews enjoyed the best season of his career in 1970. He not only did well in stock cars, but also showed his talent in the INDY 500. He won the WORLD 600 at Charlotte on May 24, 1970. 6 days later he exhibited what many considered a "near flawless performance" in the world's greatest spectacle in racing. Driving an A.J. Foyt Special, Donnie finished 4th in the Indy. The media voted him ROOKIE of the YEAR. It's still regarded as the greatest finish by a "crossover" stock car driver. He went back in 1971 and finished 6th.

This is also the car that Carrera decided to release. Although the sponsorship was Sunny King Ford, Carrera has captured it quite well.
