3 Lane Strombecker

This track is one of 5 currently active
layouts in our club, another of which belonging to Keith Allen appears in
Reader's Roads.
My layout is 3 lane Strombecker, 53' lap
length. I have a bit more than that amount of track sitting in a box waiting
for a larger house.
Our track is located in Crownsville,
Maryland, near Annapolis.
I use a 13.8 volt, 20 amp regulated power
supply. Just switched from AutoTrack to SRT Race Management systems, with
dead strips.
The layout is long and narrow, per the space
available. A great result of that though is that with the drivers standing
along the long straight, the turn marshals stand on the opposite of the table
and can easily reach ALL turns with minimal interference with lines of sight.
In fact two people with fast hands can easily marshal the course, three or
more marshals and you have more than you need!
With 3 drivers, we can have a fully marshaled
event with as few as 5 people total!
The course seems to combine the best of
long straights and challenging turns. I have always loved the look of the 3 lane
Strombecker, and you have detailed this one nicely!
