Carrera in Paradise!
Thanks for the wonderful website.
It started when my wife told me to finally get rid of those ugly boxes (3
complete 132 scale old style Carrera tracks) and trash them. Trash them? No
way. I ended up giving them to a friend and his kids already had hours of fun.
Now that the old boxes were gone I sat down on the computer turned on the
Internet and searched for slot cars. I was just blown away. Didn't even think
twice and ordered some brand new Carrera Exclusiv track and a few cars to start
of with. Attached are some photos of the track.
I am still in the very first stage, but the more I read and learn about it the more we want to build a nice track. The current layout is approx. 150 feet and has almost no tight corners as we soon found out that we really like the fast turns.
Being
German I was able to read about some German websites of already very advanced
Carrera fans. They all build their own infrared timers, start signals,
brake-lights and everything you can Imagine. On top of that they did develop a
race management system that is free to download and obviously connects to all
the electronics those guys figured out.

Those two sites are just a few really interesting ones with the first one having
all kinds of technical info on it. Just check it out even though you might not
understand everything. It is still interesting to just look at the pictures.
