1st Annual Octoberfest!

Here are some photos of our latest slot car event. Racers came from as far away as Detroit, Michigan to have fun on our Carrera road course and brand new Artin 6 lane oval!

First of all, you can't race slot cars on an empty stomach:) We smoked a pork loin for about 5 hours outside and they make some great sandwiches as our friend Dave shows us here. About 3 of these is all you need for a few hours of competition!

These are some photos of the action early in the day. On the left, Kurt Moser, Rich McMahon and Dave Dobner are doing battle with some Monograms and on the right it is our host Mark with his son Cale and Kurt Moser scrapping with some Fly Classics.

On the left is a shot of some Fly Classics screaming into the big banked section. On the right, Rich and Dave do some fine tuning for the next class. As you can see, we brought a few slot cars with us!

The Monogram Grand Sport Corvette seen some wild action. Click HERE to watch a quick video as these 4 cars launch into the big bank! On the right, the action heats up at night as the new BLUEGRASS RACEWAY Artin 6 lane oval sees some heavy use.

The new oval is just about the perfect size for home racing. It is 17 feet in length and has slight banks on each end. On the left below you can see the wiring that was constructed for the layout. On the right is how we do NASCAR:)

We use the standard 3 bolt method for controller hook-up and use the LOKO 40 amp power supply for both tracks. We had a full field of 6 cars on the oval and all 4 lanes on the Carrera running for hours and not a sign of power loss. Having a power supply that can accomplish this makes it well worth the investment. We hade the voltage set at a little over 10 volts too. This is more than enough speed and helps on the control factor.

Home racing is about as much fun as you can stand, and having a basement full of racers makes it even better. If you are ever in the area, drop us a line and stop by for some racin'!
