Jungle Jim Liberman Funny Car
I decided to try something quite different from a NASCAR, to
show what a little imagination can do. The front and rear tires/wheels/axles
were swapped from other Artin cars (a Porsche and a Fat Boy). The interior and
exterior details (parachute, blower, fire extinguisher, headers, etc) came from
various slot and static car kits. The decals are home made (images were scanned
from a 1/25 scale decal kit, so they had to be re-sized and printed). The images
of Jungle and Pam on the rear were taken from a photo, circa 1976. The rear
spoiler, trim around the body sides, front, and roof, are all done in Bare Metal
Foil aluminum, as is the interior floor pan. The body was lowered and raked
(front lower than rear) to more closely resemble a real Funny Car. Large wheel
gap in rear is intentional, and will allow tire growth during burn outs. :-)
