FLASHY TRACK!
by Grant Suderman
Track: My track is 2/3 Scalextric Sport track and the rest is about 1/3
Scalextric Classic track. The lap length is 91 feet. The inside boarders were
spray painted semi gloss black to optically widen the track.
Table: The tables are five separate 4'x8' tables all placed together to form one
giant 8'x20' table! The carpet I got at my local Lowe's home center and was easy
to put on, and it adds a lot to the overall appearance of the track! Plus, it is
a lot safer on the cars, when they de-slot. The light blue fencing is gutter
guard I got and spray painted light blue.
Timing System: The timing system I use is the DS-200 Pro Series lap counter with
a light bridge. I love this lap counter!
Decoration: So far my track decoration is very mild, and I hope to add more to
the track. But then again some say six trees and a bridge is enough. I hope to
build pits, as well as add track lighting, and some elevation changes.
Power & Control: So far my power is two Scalextric transformers (which I hope to
upgrade to a Professor Motor power supply in the near future), and I use
Professor Motor controllers, excellent controllers by the way! Also, I have
relocated my Sport power base to underneath my track to give a more realistic
look to the track.
