Welcome Fellow Roundy-Rounders!
We thought we would share with you these classes of racing we will be building.
This series is now a full fledged PROXY Series held 4 times a year.
A PROXY series is where you build your car and mail it to the host track to have fun and race with.
You will see photos of your car in action and get a full report on how your model did against others across around the world.
Unlike most PROXY races you have seen, there are no real strict rules. Also, we mostly do not "race" them in a official organized race.
What we do is get all the cars together and start playing with them. We run a few heat races, share the modeling you have done with others, and report back.
We award "prizes" on areas such as authenticity and creativity. Also awards for fastest car and most fun to drive.
In other words racers: It's just for the fun of it. Your awards? Prizes? BRAGGING RIGHTS!
And perhaps it will encourage others to start building and enjoy the fun of slot car racing.
LET'S GO JALOPY RACING!!
So what is a Jalopy? Well, nothing more than an old, beat up car that has seen better days but still has life a race car! These cars can be found easily on the web for you to use as a guide.
We are going to use a variety of different kits. Mostly 1920's through 1940's.
KITS ARE EXAMPLES ONLY. Any old hammer will do!
Again, We do not race with rules. We simply decided on some criteria that helps make all the models very close in performance.
Here are the 3 guidelines we are following for our series here:
We are using the H&R Chassis as our base. We are of course heavily modifying it.
All of our models will use the H&R HAWK 18,000 RPM Motor.
Unlike the modified series, all of our models will use H&R standard front wheels all the way around.
NOTE: This is just how we are going
to approach them.
YOU can build them anyway you see fit! NO RULES...JUST FUN!

LET'S GO MODIFIED RACING!
The old modifieds are so popular, we are including these in the series. These are basically very close in construction to the Jalopys, but we allow the wider rear tires and you can also use a wider right front to create a little stagger.
Again, these are just guidelines...NOT rules. Be creative!
